動詞變為動名詞的規則：
(1)一般情況下，在動詞的后面直接加ing。如：play—playing read—reading do—doing go—going
(2)以不發音的字母e結尾的動詞，要去掉不發音的字母e，再加ing。如：write—writing ride—riding make—making dance—dancing
(3)以單元音加單輔音結尾的重讀閉音節，要雙寫最后一個輔音字母，再加ing。如：run—running swim—swimming put—putting sit—sitting

六年級英語學習原則
(一)簡單原則
學習英語從簡單的開始。只有從簡單的開始，才容易入門，才容易產生“興趣”，才容易把事情進行下去。學會容易的東西，并把容易的東西融會貫通地加以運用才是英語學習的關鍵所在。
(二)量的原則
學習英語閱讀，如果沒有讀到足夠的數量，就無法熟練地閱讀英語。學習英語不能太急于求成，語言的學習是培養一種感覺，而感覺要靠數量的積累來培養。基礎必須打牢，也只有在基礎打牢的前提下，才能學好英文。只有有了“量”，才能有“質”的飛躍。

在剛開始學習英語口語時，重復原則尤為重要。因為，剛學習英語口語，背誦一些英語后，就找同學來練，反復重復已學內容。“重復原則”與“量的原則”缺一不可，要有機地把兩者統一起來。
(四)模仿原則
孩子學語言是個模仿的過程，他們每天模仿父母、周圍的人、電視等一切可以模仿的東西，并且模仿得越來越象，突然有一天，他們停止模仿了，并且逐漸形成融合自己個性特征的語言方式。
學習英語時，模仿原則是必不可少的。在學口語時，要盡量模仿你已經讀過的東西和已經聽過的東西。模仿得越像越好，這是英語學習最基本的常識。
(五)突擊原則
若想學好英語，需要找到”快速進入角色“的感覺。只有這樣，才能有足夠的動力和興趣把學習堅持到底。學習一種技能，突擊原則是最重要的。
一個人的精力不可能總是充沛的，重復做同一件事情就會變得單調，因此就要采取間隔突擊強化的方法。英語學習的過程應該是由一個個強化突擊階段所組成的。
